I highly disapprove just so you know. In school we are learning about the different political systems in different countries, and to be honest, who the hell was the moron that declared democracy the best system? It's a terrible form of government! In fact, the more I learn about it the more I like dictatorship! Democracy is supposedly based on "the will of the people" yet, in Canada for example, the way it is worked in representation by population, not everyone's vote is equal! Depending on where you live, your vote is worth less or more than others. WTF?? How is that a democracy? So even though a candidate has more votes than another, he still doesn't win because the "wrong" people voted for him. Am I the only one that wants to take a stick and beat the person who thought of this mess? Not only is the voting system screwed up but the length of time in which we take to actually get a simple bill passed, really??? When you think about how long it takes these old farts in parliament to actually pass a law, it's not even worth bringing it up! Personally I think they do it on purpose just to get out of the extra work. They can't even get us out of a dumb recession because there are too many people with too many ideas and not enough people actually doing something about it! This is why dictatorship is far better than democracy. Sure be stereotypical about it and think Hitler or Mussolini. Good for you. Their personal racist views are not a dictatorship, its the form of government in which the country is run and in case you forgot, their economy was BOOMING! It was the golden age for those countries when it came to finance. Ok so dictatorship people don't get to vote, but hellooooo YOU DON'T GET OFF YOUR ASS TO VOTE ANYWAY! The voter turnout this year was around 40% of the entire population. That's pathetic. If you don't want to actually appreciate the fact that you have the right to vote, I don't think you should be allowed to keep that right. However, there are moral issues against that. So what I propose is to combine the two. A democratic dictatorship (or something of the sort) where people can vote between two main parties (like in the U.S.A with republicans and democrats) the creation of these parties can go into more detail later. Then the country can vote (based on number votes not representation percentage crap) on a single dictator (like a president) who doesn't have complete control but acts more like a mediator between the two opposing parties in government. That way the two parties can argue over a bill and the dictator can listen like a judge then come to a quick and fair decision as to what way they are going to go based on the points he/she has heard from each side. Then the way to prevent totalitarianism is to input a system with this where the dictator must appease the people and maintain popular vote or he can be voted out at anytime. Let me know your opinions on my website www.unwritten.ca on the forum; Oh, and stay tuned to my book I will be writing on all of this entitled "P.S political systems positively suck".

Movement Moments

Hello world, it has been awhile since we have talked. I apologize. Life has been coming so fast these past few weeks that I didn't even have time for a simple blog post let alone any writing! Then of course as the source of all great writer's motivation, I was threatened by my dear friend Katelynn to make some time "or else". My curiosity level does not go above "or else" so I decided this seemed like a good time. It's funny though isn't it? One minute your a carefree teenager texting friends and wondering what on earth your going to do for plans Friday night, and then the next your schedule is so booked that 'free time' is but a distant memory. I have undergone this change and unfortunately, it's irreversible. I have school work and studying, then I work, then I attend my three volunteer commitments, I play soccer, I ref soccer, and I sleep. Basic summary of my life. Its like an earthquake to my new delicate time table just to try and make it to my best friend's birthday party this weekend! I feel as if my life has been preplanned and now I'm stuck living some cynical perfectionists every wish, and they don't support lazy days. If this is how life is I finally can say I understand the reasoning behind suicides and psychological breakdowns.

The worst of it is I actually had an idea for a novel in my head that I intend on following through for once, and now I have no time to write it. Oh sweet sweet irony, how you ruin my life. I guess the best advice is to just take everything one day at a time and not thing about tomorrow. Theennnnnn you actually have to plan for tomorrow and that philosophy comes crashing down on you. Women of the world, I salute you.

My Blog

Hello World! Those that have however, must by now be very familiar with the site's signature purple flower. Why a flower? And a purple one at that? It's a site for literature, shouldn't the image be symbolic like a pen or paper?? On the contrary, as a site for literature there is automatically a deeper meaning behind everything, however irrelevant to the meaning of life it may be. The mystery behind the flower is actually very simple. I saw a downy commercial with the flowery letters and then said I wanted the title to look like that. No joke. Of coarse Mike wasn't able to visualize the vines around the letters and little flowers blooming, but out of the exhausting explanations and pictures, he managed to create the most precise, perfect, purple flower. Since you can't repeat perfection, there was only to ever be one and there it becomes the signature of unwritten. Welcome to the simplicity of the imagination.

Brand New and Unused

Hello world. Street smarts for example. Adults will drive themselves anywhere their heart desires and if they don't know where they are going they just punch it into the GPS and are once again on their way. Youth, particularly teenagers, must take a bus to where their heart bids them and if they don't know where they are going well suffice it to say they are screwed. This is where street smarts come to play. Teens must be able to navigate through the city and know the major bus routes and stops like the back of their hand; those that don't have this talent, like myself, end up lost in a questionable part of the city with their best friend and a bunch of shopping bags. Don't believe me? Katelynn and I were riding the bus to the mall for a shopping spree and looking around to see where we were so we wouldn't miss the stop. Not sure why the bus was making a certain loop away from where we wanted to go, we pulled the cord to get off thinking that was the closest we would get and the mall was just around the corner. Surprise surprise, we got off 5 blocks too early, and had to walk in the rain all the way to the mall. Fortunately for us we were passing through a college with some handsome scenery...if you catch my drift. Anyway if this isn't proof to you enough, on the way back from shopping we got on the bus with the right number, just the wrong destination. We ended up taking a two hour trip around the entire city, waiting for the bus to circle back around to where we had started. Street smarts, get them.

Inspiration Irritation

Hello World, I have a question for you. What do you do when you can't find inspiration? Not for anything in specific but the general inspiration and motivation to write anything from a poem to a novel to even a blog post. My mind has lately had a lack of ideas, or rather a lot of ideas but none that seem good enough to produce anything. How can a writer write without anything to write about? Try saying that 5 times fast. It is a stressful, albeit an intriguing problem that I find the need to reflect upon. While you may think this is ridiculous because writers block is writers block not a reflection, I would like to point out that I just wrote a blog on not being able to write a blog. To be completely honest with you I wasn't sure about a job there at first because of soccer and school and the fact that I want to have a life and not just work everyday. But now that I got the job how could I refuse? It's like the giant closet I've always wanted! I simply worship their clothing and now when I'm standing there for hours folding clothes and hanging things up, I will be perfectly content pretending I'm organizing my wardrobe. Take that working world.

Coated Chaos

Hello world, have you ever felt the urge to bake? I find myself twitching to make a dessert of some form every time I feel down and usually my depressed creations are somewhat edible, but today was a different story. I decided to attempt an apple pie but I needed a recipe, so like any independent, modern woman, I googled it. Well it was all smooth rolling from there, with a bit of flour involved of coarse and I thought adding my own clever twists would make the pie that much more scrumptious. A pinch here a dash there, and BOOM a big mess in my oven. Honestly, when I went to check on what was causing the burning smell I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, my pie was bubbling apple goodness all over the oven and if that wasn't bad enough, it was black. So now I have learned a very valuable lesson, the ingredients you want to add to a dish aren't on the list for a reason, so don't do it. But as they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained; of coarse they never mentioned what you could be gaining is a giant mess to clean up. I guess it's left out for a reason.

Beginner's Luck

Hello world, my name is Jordanna Bubar and this is officially my first post. I have decided to venture into the land of blogging in hopes of promoting my soon to be complete website www.unwritten.ca; of coarse that link will do you no good at the moment, but find a penny for the thought of clicking it. The purpose to my website however, is to display pieces of my literary work for you to enjoy and comment on, so read and weep my friend. But don't be shy! On the site you can post your own work as well and share it with the rest of the strange, but wonderful people whom have embraced the magic of literature. Personally, I cannot wait.
